In your email preferences, you set different parameters to control where and how emails are sent for specific instances in Tuplo and Tuplo Studio.

Receiving

In this section, you can designate which email address you wish to receive general and order emails. Order emails are optional, while general emails require an address.

To do this:

  1. Enter the desired email to the general field

  2. Activate the Order Emails toggle and enter the desired email.

  3. Scroll down and click the Update Email button.

Sending

You have some options on how you would like to set up sending email communications with Tuplo.

  • Default Tuplo Mail: This option lets you send and receive emails through Tuplo.net. Customers will see an annotation on your email that includes this address, so while this is a reasonable temporary solution, we suggest using either of the following options for the final setup.

  • SMTP: Using this option, you can remove the tuplo.net tag from your emails so customers see that your communication came directly from your domain. This is a fairly standard process regardless of your email client, and you can likely find steps to do so on their support pages.

  • Mailjet: If you work with your own Mailjet account, you can easily connect these services by simply entering your API and Secret Keys. Less common than the SMTP options, Mailjet provides similar services.

Gmail SMTP Settings

For Gmail users setting up SMTP, specific details apply when configuring a Gmail account with Tuplo. Expand the section below for a step-by-step guide.

Step-by-Step Guide

This guide explains how to configure SMTP with Google's email service, including setting up 2-factor authentication (2FA), generating an app password, and configuring SMTP settings.

Step 1: Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

  1. Under the 'Signing in to Google' section, locate '2-Step Verification' and click on 'Turn On'.

  2. Follow the steps to set up 2FA using your phone number or an authenticator app (e.g., Google Authenticator).

Step 2: Generate an App Password

  1. After enabling 2FA, return to the Security page on your Google Account.

  2. In the 'Signing in to Google' section, locate and click on 'App Passwords.' If you don't see this option, ensure that 2FA is enabled.

  3. Authenticate your account when prompted.

  4. In the ‘App Name' field, enter any name that helps indicate what this is for, such as ‘Tuplo.’

  5. Click 'Create' to create a 16-character app password.

  6. Copy this password for use in your SMTP configuration.

Step 3: Dashboard Configuration

Use the following settings to configure Tuplo to send emails using Google:

  • SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com

  • Port: 587

  • Security Type: STARTTLS

  • Username: Your full Gmail address (e.g., your-email@gmail.com).

  • Password: The app password that was generated in Step 2.

If you encounter issues with authentication, ensure that:

  • 2FA is enabled on your account.

  • You are using the correct app password and not your regular Gmail password.

  • Your network or firewall is not blocking the SMTP ports.

Email Templates

In this section, you can build a template to apply to emails sent via actions in Tuplo and Tuplo Studio.

To add a Header Logo:

  1. Click Choose File.

  2. Select an image file from your computer and click add.

To adjust your header color:

  1. Click the color box.

  2. Then either:

    • Select a color.

    • Click show colors to open your system's color controls window.

Quick Tips!

The Head and Footer entries support HTML for more customization when building your email template.

Testing Email
