Point-of-Sale Mode

Adjust the Orders Detail Window for physical store location transactions.

The Retail Log-in Window when using POS Mode.

Tuplo Studio features a Point-of-Sale (POS) Mode for in-person sales. This setting adjusts some interface options to focus more on orders created when customers bring products to your register to purchase in-store.

While not every seller will need this feature, having it as an option makes it easy to adjust for growth when necessary.

For more info:

Please refer to the Hardware Setup section for details on additional hardware and setup instructions.

Activate POS Mode

After you have the proper equipment connected, you should activate POS Mode in your Tuplo Studio settings.

To do so:

  1. Choose Tulpo Studio > Settings from the Window Menu.

  2. Activate the Open Orders in Retail Mode checkbox in General Preferences.

  3. Close the Preferences Window.

  4. Choose Window > Retail Sales from the Window Menu.

POS Orders

The No Sale and Print Receipt buttons in a Retail Order.

Orders built while using Point-of-Sale Mode are considered POS Orders. They function the same as other orders, with a few different components.

These include:

  • The addition of the No Sale and Print Receipt buttons.

  • Customer details are auto-filled as Retail Customer.

  • Products sold in POS orders are defaulted to Carry Out in the shipments tab.

A Passcode is required to create a POS order. Passcodes attach user identities to actions taken while logged in, helping maintain accountability for changes made when completing sales in Tulpo Studio.

To create a new POS order:

  1. Enter your passcode.

  2. Click the New Sale button.

Quick Tips!

If you have issues creating a new POS order with your login, please contact a manager for assistance.

Add Products

In addition to adding products by entering their Product ID, a Barcode Scanner can be used in POS mode to expedite checkout.

To add products while using a barcode scanner:

  1. Confirm that the Add Product Search input is selected.

  2. Scan a product's barcode.

Alternatively, you can add products manually by following these steps:

  1. Select the Add Product Search input.

  2. Type the Product ID.

  3. Enter a quantity.

  4. Press Return.

Close Orders

Once payments have been made and the customer receives their products, you can Close the order. Doing this prompts a change-due screen, prints receipts, and opens the cash drawer.

To close a POS order:

  1. Click the Close Order button.

  2. Provide any change to the customer.

  3. Click the Close button.

Once closed, the Tuplo Studio returns to the Retail Login Window to await the next transaction.

In addition to the ones printed at the closing of an order, receipts can be printed manually if needed.

To print manually:

  • Open an order in the Orders Detail Window.

  • Click the Print Receipt button.

Quick Tips! You can also print receipts for closed Orders by following these steps. Just select a filter in the Orders tab that displays your closed Orders.

Cash Drawer Access

You can open your Cash Drawer outside of completing a transaction in one of two ways:

  • From the Retail Login Window.

    1. Enter a User ID.

    2. Click the No Sale button.

  • From the Order Detail Window.

    1. Click the No Sale button.
